History
The American Academy was created in 1995 by a small group of parents and teachers. They found local public schools and private schools lacking in both academic rigor and moral teaching, part of a widely documented national trend. Classroom discipline, classic books, and a clear idea of right and wrong were not systematically taught. Therefore, teachers and parents were recruited who shared our vision of a new school with a traditional approach to academic excellence and character education through Christian principles. After securing the use of classrooms and creating a business organization, The American Academy was born.
